Best Charging Handle for Benelli M4: Why to Choose FFT Titanium Charging Handles

If you’re upgrading your Benelli M4, choosing the right charging handle can make a major difference in performance, durability, and overall feel. In this post, I break down why my FFT titanium charging handles—available in both ½-inch and ¾-inch sizes—have become some of the best-selling options on the market. After producing tens of thousands of these since 2009, I share my real-world experience, material comparisons between titanium and steel, and how to choose the right size based on your setup, whether you’re building a tactical shotgun or a streamlined grab-and-go configuration.

In this video, I’m showing you what I have here in my hand—two titanium charging handles for the Benelli M4, one in a half-inch size and one in a three-quarter inch size.

These are two of the best-selling charging handles on the planet, and honestly, that’s probably because they’re some of the best out there. I’ve been making these since 2009, and the charging handle is really what got me started in this business. After all these years, we’ve put tens of thousands of these out into the market.

They’re nothing short of absolutely gorgeous. Personally, I lean toward the three-quarter inch handle, but I really do like both sizes. There are times when I prefer the half-inch and times when I want the three-quarter—it really depends on how I’ve set up my shotgun.

If I’m running gloves or I’ve got more going on with my build, I like having that larger, beefier three-quarter inch handle. But if I’m running a more minimal, barebones shotgun, the half-inch works perfectly for a quick grab-and-go setup.

Now, when it comes to material, titanium is excellent. It makes a fantastic charging handle. That said, if I’m being technical, I actually think steel is a slightly better material for this application—but we’re really splitting hairs there. Either way, these handles are going to last you a lifetime.

I’ve been doing this for 18 years, and these products only go one direction—out the door.

One of the most common questions I get is whether to choose titanium or steel. My answer is simple: if you’re going with the three-quarter inch handle, go titanium. If you’re going with the half-inch, I recommend steel. The steel also matches the factory finish of the gun a little better.

Titanium has more of an Air Force gray tone, while the steel has a darker charcoal gray look. Some people call it black, and in the gun world that’s pretty common, but technically it’s more of a dark gray finish.

At the end of the day, these titanium charging handles are absolutely gorgeous, and I love them.

If you’re running an M1 or M2, I make handles for those as well. The three-quarter inch version in particular is incredible on those platforms. The way it locks into place—there’s really nothing better.

So go ahead and check them out. Thanks for watching, and I hope you have a great day.
