One of the things I see quite often with new Benelli M4 owners is that they start taking the shotgun apart before they fully understand how certain components work. One of the most common mistakes occurs when removing the trigger housing.

As owners remove the trigger housing, they sometimes remove the axle bushing assembly without realizing it. In the process, they end up damaging one or more of the small components that make up the assembly. Usually it's one of the retaining rings or the plastic washer that gets damaged.

Many owners don't even realize they've damaged these parts until after the disassembly is complete.

That's the reason I created the Freedom Fighter Tactical Axle Bushing Rehab Kit years ago. The purpose of the kit is simple: if you accidentally damage one of these components during maintenance or disassembly, you'll have everything you need to repair the axle bushing assembly and get your Benelli M4 back into service.

Is this a good kit to keep in your spare parts collection? Absolutely.

That said, of all the rehab kits I offer, this is probably one of the least frequently needed. The odds of damaging these parts are relatively low. However, if you do damage them, your shotgun can be out of service until replacement parts are located.

One of the biggest challenges with these small Benelli M4 components is simply finding them.

Large retailers carry inventory for thousands of different firearms. Companies like Brownells, MidwayUSA, and many other excellent suppliers have enormous catalogs to support a wide variety of firearms. They aren't exclusively focused on the Benelli M4 platform.

As a result, these small specialty parts are often out of stock or unavailable when you need them most.

Because I'm a Benelli dealer and have focused heavily on supporting the Benelli M4 community, I've made it a priority to maintain inventory of many hard-to-find replacement parts whenever they're available from Benelli. When certain parts become available, I often purchase enough inventory to support customers for many years into the future.

The reality is that many of these small parts are not major profit centers for any company. A retaining ring, washer, or other small component may only be needed by a handful of owners each year. That makes it difficult for large companies to justify carrying significant inventory.

But for the customer who needs that part, it's critical.

Without it, the shotgun may remain out of service until the correct replacement can be found.

That's one of the reasons Freedom Fighter Tactical exists. My goal has always been to provide Benelli M4 owners with access to the parts, upgrades, and replacement components that are often overlooked by larger retailers.
