Best Benelli M4 Magazine Extension Tube: Titanium vs. Steel (7-Round Upgrade Guide)

I compare titanium vs. steel Benelli M4 magazine extension tubes so you can choose the best 7-round upgrade for your build. I cover real handling benefits (weight and balance up front), durability, finish matching for black and H2O-style guns, and when the steel tube is the smarter value. I also share why I personally run titanium on my M4 and what most shooters notice the first time they shoulder a gun with the lighter tube.

Today I’m talking about the best Benelli M4 magazine extension tube and why my Freedom Fighter Tactical 7-round tubes in titanium and steel have been go-to upgrades since 2008. We launched our steel tube first, then introduced titanium even though it’s more expensive to make. After years of classes and range days, I still run the titanium mag tube on my personal M4. The difference shows up the moment you shoulder the shotgun: shaving a few ounces off the front end noticeably improves balance and transitions. When shooters try a steel-tube gun, then handle mine with titanium, they immediately feel the change.

So which is “best”? Titanium is my pick for performance—lighter out front means quicker handling and less fatigue. Steel is the budget-friendlier option and usually the strongest color match for factory finishes (including black and many H2O-style silver finishes). Titanium still looks excellent on both black and silver guns, but if perfect matching is your top priority, steel often wins that category.

Bottom line: if you want maximum handling with a premium feel, choose the titanium 7-round mag tube. If you want a great tube with the most OEM-like appearance at a lower price, go steel. Either way, you’ll get a reliable capacity upgrade that makes your Benelli M4 more capable. Not sure which tube is right for your setup? Text or call me—I’m happy to help.
