Benelli M4 Worry-Free Extended Carrier Upgrade: Faster, Safer, More Confident Loading for Your Shotgun
In this video, I break down one of the most popular upgrades for the Benelli M4 shotgun — the Freedom Fighter Tactical Worry-Free Extended Carrier. I explain why the factory Benelli carrier has the infamous U-shaped cutout, what it was originally designed for, and why so many Benelli M4 owners replace it with a smoother, more practical loading solution. I also compare the stainless gloss version and the NP3 version, discuss loading comfort, glove use, polymer housing fitment, and why this upgrade has become a must-have part for serious Benelli M4 builders. If you're buying Benelli M4 parts, upgrading your shotgun, or building the ultimate tactical shotgun setup, this video will help you understand why the FFT Worry-Free Carrier remains one of the best Benelli M4 upgrades available.

Hey folks, Todd at Freedom Fighter Tactical. Today I want to talk about one of our more popular Benelli M4 upgrades — the Freedom Fighter Tactical Worry-Free Extended Carrier.
I’ve got two versions here. I’ve got the original gloss stainless steel version, and I’ve also got the NP3 version. Both are built from the same high-quality material and both are extremely durable, hard-use parts designed specifically for the Benelli M4 platform.
Now, if you’re new to the Benelli M4 or you’ve never paid attention to this before, go take a look at your factory carrier. You’ll notice there’s a little U-shaped cutout on the front of the carrier. That cutout exists so you can run one of those corded gun locks through the receiver, out the ejection port, and down through the loading area of the shotgun.
That’s why Benelli designed it that way.
The problem is that most of us never use that style of gun lock. A lot of people would rather use a trigger lock, lock the firearm another way, or simply store the shotgun securely in a safe, closet, rack, or secured room.
Where the issue comes in is during loading.
When you’re loading quickly, loading aggressively, or loading while wearing gloves, that factory U-shape can absolutely catch your thumb or thumbnail. I’ve heard stories about people tearing up their thumbs for years. Personally, I’ve mostly noticed it while wearing gloves, but the issue is real and it’s one of the reasons this upgrade became so popular.
The Freedom Fighter Tactical Worry-Free Extended Carrier eliminates that front U-shape entirely, giving you a much smoother loading experience. That means faster loading, more comfortable loading, and far less chance of your thumb getting hung up while feeding shells into the shotgun.
We’ve been selling these for many years and they’ve become one of the go-to upgrades for people building serious Benelli M4 shotguns.
I understand why Benelli originally designed the carrier this way. There’s a tremendous amount of liability in the firearms world and manufacturers are always trying to reduce liability wherever possible. But for many Benelli M4 owners, the practical benefit of smoother loading outweighs the need for that cord-style lock feature.
There are plenty of other ways to safely secure your shotgun without running a cable lock through the receiver.
One thing I do want to mention is fitment with polymer trigger housings. Occasionally, depending on the tolerances of the polymer housing, you may need to remove a very small amount of material for perfect operation. Polymer housings can vary slightly. Benelli has been using polymer housings for years, and sometimes the tolerances are just a little tricky.
If you install a new carrier and notice sticking, don’t panic. Usually it’s a very simple adjustment.
If you ever need help, give me a call or send me a text. My phone number is on the website and I do my best to answer or respond 365 days a year. A lot of my customers work on their Benelli M4 shotguns during nights, weekends, and holidays, and I’ve always tried to be available when people are actively building their guns and need help.
That’s always been one of my calling cards at Freedom Fighter Tactical.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed learning more about the Benelli M4 Worry-Free Extended Carrier, why the original factory carrier has the U-shape, and why so many Benelli M4 owners upgrade to this smoother loading design.
Get one for your shotgun and you’ll probably wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
