Benelli M4 QD2 Sling Mount Installation (70085 Collapsible Stock Guide)

In this step-by-step guide I show you how to install the Freedom Fighter Tactical QD2 sling mount on the Benelli M4 70085/70085F collapsible stock to add a clean, reliable rear QD attachment point. I cover kit contents, left vs. right-side placement, which half of the QD2 is threaded (and where it belongs), how to align the halves so the mount sits flush and rock-solid, and the quick butt-pad removal you’ll need to access the stock channel. If you’re building or upgrading a Benelli M4 / M1014, this tutorial keeps you on the right parts (QD2 → 70085 only; not for 70132) and helps you avoid common install mistakes. Questions? Hey folks—Todd at Freedom Fighter Tactical. In this quick install I show you how to mount our QD2 sling attachment to a Benelli M4 70085/70085F collapsible stock. This part is specifically for the 70085 family (often called the “American” version) and does not fit the 70132 “European” collapsible stock.

I start with the stock on the bench so you can see the internal channel and the pre-drilled pass-through where the QD2 will clamp. If you’re using one of our U.S.-made stocks, you’ll also see the Made in USA mark—same process either way. In the QD2 kit you’ll find two machined halves (one threaded), a screw, and a washer. Decide which side you want the QD cup to protrude from—left or right—based on your sling setup. Many right-handed shooters prefer the QD on the left side, but set it up for your use case.

To begin, I run the screw with the washer into the stock channel just until the tip is visible in the pass-through. That makes it easy to start the threaded half. The threaded QD2 half goes on the barrel-end side of the stock; the non-threaded half goes on the opposite side. If the screw stops early, it usually means the halves aren’t perfectly centered—back off slightly, realign, and re-snug.

I tighten the QD2 until both sides sit flush to the stock and the mount is rock-solid with minimal movement. You don’t need thread locker for most installs; if you choose to use it, a tiny amount is plenty. For access, you’ll remove the butt pad with a Phillips screwdriver—quick on/off.

That’s the entire installation. You now have a clean, secure rear QD sling point purpose-built for the Benelli M4 / M1014 70085 collapsible stock. If you’re running the 70132 stock, I have a separate video with options for that platform.
